Washington, Apr 2:
In a major milestone for space exploration, NASA has successfully launched the Artemis II mission, sending astronauts on a journey toward the Moon for the first time in more than 50 years. The mission lifted off from Florida aboard the powerful Space Launch System rocket, marking a new chapter in human spaceflight.
The crew includes Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen. This diverse team represents a historic moment, with the mission featuring the first woman, first Black astronaut, and first non-American to take part in a lunar mission.
Artemis II will carry the astronauts on a 10-day journey around the Moon without landing, testing critical systems of the Orion spacecraft.
