Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a major roadshow in Nagercoil today as part of his campaign for NDA candidates in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
According to officials, the Prime Minister will arrive in Thiruvananthapuram by flight and then proceed by helicopter to Nagercoil, where he is expected to land around 4 pm. From there, he will travel to Vepamoodu and begin his roadshow, covering a stretch of about one kilometre up to Vadassery.
The roadshow is aimed at mobilising support for NDA candidates from Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli and Tenkasi districts.
Senior leaders and candidates of allied parties are expected to participate in the event.
Security has been significantly intensified ahead of the visit. Police have installed barricades along the entire route and deployed personnel across key areas including Vepamoodu, Manimedai, Anna Stadium and Vadassery.
Traffic diversions have been put in place on major roads, particularly from Vadassery bus stand to Kottar police station, to manage the expected surge in crowds.
