Chennai, Apr 30:

Gold prices in Tamil Nadu remained largely stable on Wednesday, with minor fluctuations observed across major cities including Chennai.

According to market sources, the price of 22-carat gold was around ₹13,900 per gram, while 24-carat gold was priced above ₹15,000 per gram. The rates have shown slight variations in recent days, reflecting global market trends and currency movements.

Jewellers said demand continues to remain steady despite the high price levels, especially with the ongoing wedding season supporting retail purchases. However, some buyers are adopting a cautious approach, waiting for a possible dip in prices.

Traders attributed the marginal fluctuations to international factors such as changes in crude oil prices, inflation concerns, and global economic uncertainty, which continue to influence bullion markets.

Industry experts expect gold prices to remain range-bound in the near term, with global cues and investor sentiment playing a key role in determining further movement.
