The first look and teaser of Thaazh Thiravaa were unveiled at the Cannes film festival, drawing appreciation from the audience and marking an emotional milestone for the film’s team.
Director Bharani Sekaran described the moment as special, noting that the response from an international platform known for offbeat and content-driven cinema was encouraging for a commercial horror film. “It is certainly an emotional moment for us. Thaazh Thiravaa is a pure commercial horror film. When the content is strong, any genre would strike a chord with the audience,” he said.
The film, produced by Barman Pictures, has faced a long production journey. Bharani revealed that the initial schedule was disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, following which the team resumed shooting and reworked portions of the script before completing the project across multiple schedules.
The makers are now targeting an August release, with significant work underway on visual effects and computer graphics, which form a crucial part of the film’s narrative and presentation.
Thaazh Thiravaa features Aadhav Kannadasan and Vani Bhojan in lead roles, with music composed by Osho Venkat. The team expressed confidence that the film’s blend of commercial appeal and strong storytelling will resonate with audiences upon release.
