The controversy surrounding the alleged NEET question paper leak has escalated into a major political flashpoint, with Rahul Gandhi launching a direct attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that the exam irregularities occurred under his personal supervision.
Rahul Gandhiās remarks came after the Centreās submission before the Supreme Court of India regarding the handling of the NEET issue. He alleged that the governmentās response effectively indicated that the Prime Minister was aware of, and overseeing, the examination process during the period when the leak reportedly took place.
The Congress leader further accused the Centre of failing to ensure transparency and accountability in one of Indiaās most crucial entrance examinations. He said the alleged leak has shaken the confidence of lakhs of students and their families, raising serious concerns about the integrity of the system.
Responding sharply, the Bharatiya Janata Party dismissed Rahul Gandhiās claims as ābaseless and misleading.ā Party leaders asserted that the opposition was attempting to politicise an ongoing investigation and create unnecessary panic among students.
The BJP maintained that the government has been proactive in addressing the issue and has placed all relevant facts before the Supreme Court. It also emphasised that strict action would be taken against those found guilty in the alleged leak case.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court continues to examine the matter closely, with a focus on ensuring accountability and safeguarding the credibility of national-level examinations.
