Chennai, June 4:
Southern Railway has announced the cancellation of select late-night suburban EMU train services in Chennai on June 5 due to scheduled engineering works between Kodambakkam and St Thomas Mount stations.
According to railway officials, a line block and power block will be carried out between 11.05 pm on June 5 and 3.05 am on June 6, resulting in partial and full cancellation of suburban train services during the period.
Chennai Beach–Tambaram EMU locals departing at 11.40 pm and 11.59 pm from Chennai Beach will be cancelled. In addition, two late-night services from Guduvancheri and Chengalpet towards Chennai Beach will also face partial cancellations.
Southern Railway has advised passengers to plan their journeys in advance and make alternative arrangements, as normal services are expected to resume after the maintenance window.
