Chennai, June 6:
Congress MP Manickam Tagore has reacted to reports that former BJP leader K Annamalai is planning to launch a new political party and contest the next general election.
In a post on social media platform X, Manickam Tagore alleged that the move could be part of a “new strategy” by the RSS-BJP ecosystem after repeated electoral attempts in Tamil Nadu. He questioned whether the proposed political outfit is a rebranded version of the same ideology under a different name.
He further claimed that while the party name may change, the underlying ideology and objectives remain the same, describing it as a possible “Plan B” designed to gain political ground in Tamil Nadu. He cautioned voters to look beyond rebranding and focus on the actual forces behind new political formations.
Tagore also stated that Tamil Nadu has historically identified and rejected political rebranding exercises, adding that voters would ultimately judge parties based on their real ideology and intent rather than their names or slogans.
The remarks come amid speculation over Annamalai’s next political move following reports of his decision to float a new party and contest future elections.
