Caracas, July 14:

The death toll from the June 24 earthquakes in Venezuela has risen to 4,333, with 16,740 people injured and 6,462 rescued, National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez said. Authorities have established 94 temporary camps sheltering more than 18,000 displaced people, while around 30,000 volunteers are supporting relief efforts.

The government has launched a Unified Housing Registry to identify affected families and provide financial assistance for rebuilding homes. Officials are also planning temporary family housing while permanent structures are constructed and are considering housing reforms and credit support programmes for victims.

Acting President Delcy Rodriguez thanked 28 countries for providing humanitarian aid, with more than 2,000 tonnes of supplies being collected in Caracas for distribution. She said international support demonstrated global solidarity and stressed that Venezuela’s priority now is recovery, reconstruction and helping earthquake-affected communities rebuild their lives.
