Chennai, July 23:
The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday ordered the transfer of five IPS officers, appointing new Superintendents of Police for Thoothukudi and Sivaganga districts as part of a routine administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening law enforcement.
According to the notification, Abhishek Gupta, who was serving as SP of Thoothukudi, has been transferred and posted as SP of Sivaganga district. In a reciprocal move, Siva Prasad, previously SP of Sivaganga, has been appointed as the new SP of Thoothukudi.
In another key posting, Vijayalakshmi has been named Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Home Guards.
Additionally, Shanmuga Priya has been appointed as Superintendent of Police, Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), Chennai West Range.
Officials said the reshuffle is part of periodic administrative measures to streamline policing and enhance efficiency across districts.
