Chennai, Aug 11:

Flaying the Congress of instigating the ruling TVK and staging a “No Delimitation” drama in Tamil Nadu with the ‘proxy government’ deployed by it, DMK Lok Sabha MP Dayanidhi Maran questioned its silent in the four states being governed by it and also to know whether it could question one of its Chief Ministers Revanth Reddy for supporting the proposed exercise.

In a detailed post on X, which was shared by the DMK, he also asked whether the Congress has shifted its stand from fair delimitaton to no delimitation only in Tamil Nadu and sought to know the National party’s exact position on the issue.

He said if this was the stand of the Congress what it had not convened similar MPs meetings in the four states governed by it, while referring to Congress Chief Minister Revanth Reddy publicly stting that Telangana would stand to gain increased representation through the Delimitation exercise.

Accusing the Congress of indulging in petty politics in Tamil Nadu, he said a party that could not articulate a clear and consistent position on delimitation has no moral authority to preach to Tamil Nadu.

In a veiled attack on the TVK government headed by Chief Minister Vijay which had convened a meeting of MPs of all parties on August 8–which was boycotted by both the Dravidian majors DMK and AIADMK–the DMK Central Chennai MP averred that the people of the state will not be taken in by the theatrics of a reels-driven party that functions as the Congress party’s proxy government.

“Delimitation: Why is the Congress staging a #NoDelimitation drama only in Tamil Nadu? Having deployed its proxy government here to convene an MPs’ meeting, why has it remained silent in the four States it governs? And will it question Thiru Revanth Reddy, who has openly supported the delimitation exercise?”

“After instigating the TVK government and staging an MPs’ meeting in Tamil Nadu as a political spectacle against delimitation, what exactly is the Congress party’s position on the issue?”, he asked.

“Has the Congress party shifted from advocating #FairDelimitation to demanding #NoDelimitation only in Tamil Nadu, or is that now its position across the country? If that is indeed the party’s stand, why has it not convened similar meetings of MPs in the four states governed by the Congress?”, Dayanidhi Maran sought to know.

“Why is it that one of the Congress Chief Ministers, Thiru Revanth Reddy, whose party is theatrically championing #NoDelimitation in Tamil Nadu, has publicly stated that Telangana stands to gain increased representation through the delimitation exercise, with the State’s Assembly and Lok Sabha seats expected to increase substantially? A party that cannot articulate a clear and consistent position on delimitation has no moral authority to preach to Tamil Nadu. What the Congress is indulging in here is nothing more than #PettyPolitics”, he added.

“The people of Tamil Nadu will not be taken in by the theatrics of a reels-driven party that functions as the Congress party’s proxy government”, he added.
