NEW DELHI:

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has called for an uncompromising, zero-tolerance approach towards countries that support, train or fund terrorist organisations during talks with US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth in Cebu, the Philippines.

The two leaders met on Wednesday on the sidelines of the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus) gathering and reviewed progress under the 10-year India-US Defence Framework agreement.

Singh expressed appreciation for Washington’s support in India’s fight against cross-border terrorism. Hegseth reaffirmed US solidarity with India and its support in countering the threat.

The discussions also covered military technology, intelligence and information sharing, operational readiness, maritime security and joint production of defence equipment.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening defence cooperation and strengthening security in the Indo-Pacific region. Singh described the meeting as productive, while Hegseth highlighted progress in the bilateral defence partnership.
