Chennai, Oct 30:
Chief Minister Vijay paid floral tributes to Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar at his statue in Nandanam on Friday on the occasion of the leader’s 119th birth anniversary and 64th Guru Pooja.
Speaker JCD Prabhakar and Ministers Aadhav Arjuna, Bussy Anand and Sengottaiyan also paid their respects. A large number of people gathered at the venue to welcome the Chief Minister, who waved to them before leaving for the Secretariat.
Vijay had earlier been expected to visit Pasumpon in Ramanathapuram district for the Guru Pooja. However, his travel plan was changed, reportedly following security concerns over the large crowds expected at the venue.
