Chennai: Dr Mehta’s Hospitals will open a new facility in Velappanchavadi, in addition to the hospital in Chetpet, tomorrow.

The new campus is spread over four acres with 250 beds which would later be expanded to 1,000.

Speaking at a press conference here Friday, Dr Mehta’s Hospitals CEO and director, Sameer Mehta, said, “The new campus will see automated, highly technology-centric outpatient, critical care and emergency wards, in addition to digitised patient monitoring.”

The 85-year-old hospital has kept its focus on longevity, surgical outcomes and wellness. “As people age, there has not been enough facilities, which we wish to achieve through our senior managing care. The programme was announced early this year, marking 85 years of founding the hospital that aims to cater to the needs of aged people,” added Sameer.

The new facility has dedicated, specialised wards that include paediatric, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and paediatric intensive care unit (PICU), among others. The hospital further stated that a majority of the equipment are Indian-made and a few are imported.

Explaining about patient fees, Dr Mehta’s Hospitals medical director, Dr Kannan, said, “Nominal charges will be fixed, suiting the patients’ need.”
