Lakshmi Stores, a new TV serial starring Khushbu Sundar in the lead role, is all set to air 24 December on Sun TV. The promo of the show, released recently, has received positive response from fans on the Internet. The bilingual TV series is being shot in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously.

Speaking to mediapersons ahead of its debut episode, Khushbu said that she was happy to return to the small screen in a leading role. She was previously seen in the serial, Nandhini.

“I liked the script very much and decided to be a part of it,” she said. “The story is entirely family-centric. We have used a grand set for this serial. It was tough throughout the shooting but we have been giving our best.”

Khushbu added that the cast and crew have completed over 30 episodes and the shooting started in October this year.

When asked about the reason to opt for a TV serial rather than working in a web series, Khushbu said, “In a web series you can never stretch a story. There is a limitation in the number of episodes to be released. But things are different and very difficult in the TV industry as the story has the ability to change based on the channel rating. There is too much work involved but it’s still fun.”

She also added, “I prefer doing roles that are based on my age. Only then it will look appropriate and real onscreen.”

Lakshmi Stores also has Nakshatra in a supporting role and a newbie actor, Hussain, who plays her love interest. “They both have really cute chemistry on screen,” said Khushbu.

Nakshatra and Hussain shared their delight and gratitude for working with talented stars. “I feel very blessed that I am working with incredible people,” said Hussain while Nakshatra added, “Since the first day of shooting, I keep learning from Khushbu ma’am and everyone else. It has been a great experience for us.”

The TV series also stars Murali Mohan, Sudha Chandran in supporting roles, while Jawahar is the director. Lakshmi Stores will be aired on Sun TV, Monday to Saturday between 9 and 9.30 pm from 24 December.
