No political motive in meeting Vijayakanth, says Rajinikanth

Chennai:¬†Tamil cinema’s foremost star and chief minister-aspirant Rajinikanth called on DMDK chief Vijayakanth at his residence this morning amidst confusion surrounding the DMDK’s place in the BJP-AIADMK-PMK alliance. Though Rajinikanth¬† maintained that it was just a courtesy visit, political observers think it’s a move to draw Vijayakanth’s support to the BJP in the general elections.
Emerging from the Saligramam residence of Vijayakanth, Rajinikanth told mediapersons that there was no political motive in meeting the DMDK leader. “There is not a drop of politics in it,” he said.
He said he had come to ask after the health of Vijayakanth who had just returned from America where he had gone for treatment.
It was his good friend Vijayakanth who had first came home to enquire about his health after his return from Singapore where he had gone for treatment, explained Rajinikanth. So, he pointed out that he was just returning a courtesy by calling on Vijayakanth after his medical treatment in America.
The Superstar said he had tried to meet Vijayakanth when he was also holidaying in America at the same time, but that did not happen due to some reasons.
“Vijayakanth is in good health now and I pray to God to always grant him good health,” said Rajinikanth and refused to take any questions from the media.
