Chennai: As part of World Kidney Day which was observed Thursday (14 March), TANKER (Tamilnad Kidney Research) Foundation held awareness campaign in several parts of the State. It was done in association with International Federation of Kidney Foundations (IFKF) and International Society of Nephrology (ISN).
A press release stated, “A free Blood Pressure (BP) camp was organised at Chennai Central Station where 3,000 people benefited. The agenda was to create awareness on BP which is one of the causes of kidney failure.”
Awareness leaflets on kidney diseases were distributed by TANKER’s auto drivers, patients and staff at Ambattur, Vellore, Thiruverkadu, Madurai, Coimbatore, Retteri and Nungambakkam.

The foundation has also planned to organise other awareness programmes and screening camps throughout the month.
