Chennai: Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam founder-leader Vijayakanth has said he will participate in electioneering soon.
Campaigns for general elections and by-elections to 18 Assembly seats are in progress right now as the polling date, 18 April, nears.
Vijayakanth’s his wife and party treasurer Premalatha and her son Vijaya Prabhakaran had been stating that ‘Captain’, as he is referred to by his cadres, was undergoing speech therapy and would canvass for votes shortly.
Today, appearing in a video, Vijayakanth said he was doing well and that he would undertake electioneering soon on the advice of his doctors.
He said the present election was a fight between dharma and adharma and only dharma will win.
Stating that Modi was a good man and that he should return as Prime Minister, he urged his cadres to work for the alliance to win all 40 seats in Tamilnadu and Puducherry.
Vijayakanth had been in America for treatment just before elections were declared.
