Actor-politician Ritheesh dies of cardiac arrest at Ramanathapuram

Ramanathapuram: Popular actor-politician J K Ritheesh (46) today passed away in Ramanathapuram following cardiac arrest.

A former DMK MP, he recently joined the AIADMK. Today, he campaigned for Ramanathapuram BJP candidate Nainar Nagendran and returned home in the afternoon. He developed uneasiness and swooned in his house.

In the 2009 general elections, Rithesh fought the elections in the DMK and received 2,94,945 votes to defeat his closest rival, Satiyamoorthy of the AIADMK by a margin of 69,215 votes.

On 10 April 2014, he joined the AIADMK as a primary member.

He acted in several films, including Kaanal Neer, Nayagan, Guru, and Pen Singam.

His last was LKG in which he acted as politician Ramraj Pandian.
