Chennai: Two north Indian workers were assaulted and robbed by an gang at Koyambedu last night.
According to the police, Sandeep Gango (24) and Ranjith Bismaksanu (22) live in Koyambedu and work at a marble shop in Nerkundram.
Last night, the duo was coming out of a liquor shop when they got into a squabble with four men on the road who had come in a car.
The incident escalated into fisticuffs when the gang snatched Rs 4,000 from Sandeep’s pocket. He also suffered an injury below his left eye.
While leaving in the car, the four men ran the vehicle over Ranjith’s leg, fracturing it. The duo has been admitted to Government Kilpauk Hospital.
There is no CCTV facility in the area. The police have registered a case.
