Chennai: Gurmeet Singh has taken charge as director (Marketing), IndianOil, the country’s largest commercial enterprise, stated a release. Prior to his elevation, Singh was executive director, handling the LPG vertical at IndianOil’s marketing division headquarters in Mumbai.
A release from IndianOil stated that Sing is a mechanical engineer who joined the firm in 1983 as a management trainee. He has handled a variety of portfolios including varied assignments in project management, engineering, retail sales and LPG.
It added that Gurmeet brings to the board his expertise as a business head of four geographically and culturally diverse and complex states – Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.
He has been instrumental in spearheading various LPG business initiatives across India, including the – ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana’, it added.
