Chennai: The health of 94-year-old DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi is improving with each passing day and proving to be a real-world example of the popular movie catchphrase – “It’s a medical miracle.”
Celebrities continue to flock Kauvery Hospital at Alwarpet where the leader of the Dravidian party is undergoing treatment for the last five days.
Today, actor Vijay visited the hospital to look up Karunanidhi and met with DMK working president, M K Stalin, to enquire about the former chief minister’s health.
Sources say that the actor entered the premises in a car with tinted glass and left through the back entrance so as not to attract attention.
Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi was also present during the meeting between the actor and the politician.
Uttar Pradesh’s former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav enquired about Karunanidhi’s health with Stalin over telephone today.
TMC leader G K Vasan, who visited the hospital today, said the doctors informed him that there has been good improvement in the health of Karunanidhi.
Actors Suriya, his father Sivakumar were also among the list of celebrities who made a beeline to the hospital to enquire about the ailing leader.
The hospital’s recent statements saying the DMK leader has regained consciousness has made the party’s supporters happy. Reports have emerged that traffic is back to normal in the area surrounding the hospital following this news.
Reports of DMK supporters and fans of Karunanidhi offering prayers for the speedy recovery of their atheist leader have been pouring in from all corners of the State.
Students of Karunanidhi’s birthplace, Tiruvarur, gathered today in front of the memorial of Karunanidhi’s mother, Anjugam, to pray for his recovery.
Actor-politician Rajinikanth and Congress president Rahul Gandhi visited the DMK supremo at the hospital yesterday and enquired about his health.
