Chennai: Mahilas of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Chennai Metro (South) District, in the city organised a pre-natal and ante-natal programme for expectant mothers from economically weaker sections of the society.
A press release said, the medical camp was conducted at Sai Arvind Community Hall, 13/1, Bahirathi Street, Srinivasa Avenue, Bishop Garden, R A Puram.
Experienced specialist doctors in Gynaecology and Paediatrics offered their services free for this seva.
The mothers were briefed about health and hygiene and precautions to be taken during pregnancy.
They were given Sai protein packets, dates and other medicines and tonics as per their requirement, while the new born babies will be provided with a small kit containing essentials, like, rubber sheets, nappies, baby powder, soap and shampoo.
Meanwhile, a valaikappu (baby shower) function was conducted on 19 July, even as medical check-ups are being conducted bi-monthly on Tuesdays between 1.00-2.00 pm.
