Chennai: In a new development in the marks-for-cash scam now haunting Anna University, the teachers association has sought the removal of registrar Ganesan as it said he was responsible for all the wrongdoings.
In a letter addressed to the Governor of Tamilnadu, Banwarilal Purohit, who is also Chancellor of the university, and Vice-Chancellor Surappa, the association blamed the registrar for the scam.
The scam, which was unearthed by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, saw the alleged involvement of the former controller of examinations, G V Uma, in awarding marks for students during revaluation for a consideration.
Along with Anna University professor Uma, a couple of other faculty and seven examiners have been booked in the controversial award of extra marks for money.
