Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said the BJP can make substantial gains in Tamilnadu if the party works hard. In an e-mail interview to a Tamil daily, Modi said the support base for the party was growing and they need to work hard to taste victory in the upcoming elections in 2019.
To a question whether the party would align with actor-politician Rajinikanth when he forms a party, the Prime Minister refused to be drawn into guess work.
Though I respect Rajinikanth for his achievements, I do not wish to answer a question based on supposition, he said.
He reiterated Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan’s charge that terrorists had a free run in Tamilnadu. They were preventing people from knowing and enjoying the schemes brought by the Central government, he said.
