Chennai: Facing depression, he attempted suicide many times in the past. But he kept failing.
Last night, he made another bid and failed again. So, he consumed alcohol and the end came.
According to the police, Karuppiah (47) lived at Apparao Garden, First Street, Chetpet, and worked as a driver.
He attempted suicide in the past and it did not work out. Last night, he tried to hang himself. However, his family members prevented him from killing himself.
Post the incident, he drank a full bottle of alcohol.
This morning, he was found unconscious in his house and was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
The police sent his body for post-mortem. Karuppiah is survived by his wife Selvi and three children – a daughter and two sons who are married. Chetpet police have registered a case of suspicious death.
