Chennai: The city police have arrested two persons for cheating three men from Arakkonam of Rs 10.50 lakh promising them jobs in Chennai Metro Rail.
According to the police, the men received Rs 10.50 lakh from Purushothaman, Gnanasekaran and Murugesan of Arakkonam in installments in 2015 and 2016 on the promise of getting them jobs in Metro Rail.
The police said, V Maduraiveeran of Vimco Nagar and K Balasubramani of Vellore worked as MTC staff attached to Ennore depot. They have been arrested.
After promising the youngsters jobs in Chennai Metro Rail, they received the money from them at a star hotel in Nungambakkam. However, even after two years, the three did not get the jobs.
Three more men M Jahir Hussain of Moulivakkam, his son J Aziz and P Arjunan of Perambur who are part of the gang are absconding.
The complainants alleged that when they approached Jahir Hussain to get their money back, he allegedly threatened them of dire consequences.
