Director Vijay sri’s ‘Dha Dha 87’ speaks against chld rape. The movie stars Charuhasan, Keerthy Suresh’s grandmother Saroja, Janakaraj, Anand Pandi and Sri Pallavi in key roles. Charuhasan plays a tough goon (a dhadha) in the film.
Says Anand Pandi,”With veterans like Charuhasan and Janagaraj sir, we told ourselves that our performances should not be below par. Vijay Sri too, made us rehearse the scenes a couple of days in advance, even then we ended up going for four to five retakes because he wants perfection and the scene to match up to the way he has picturised it.”
Sri Pallavi says,”Though I cannot reveal much about my role, I can say is that you wouldn’t have come across this role in Tamil cinema before.”
On his part, the director, said,”Her role will be spoken about forever. The pain that she had undergone to play this role cannot be expressed in words. I had approached a couple of other heroines and they turned it down. The film speaks loud against child rape.”
