Chennai: Another regulator shutter of at Mukkombu (Upper Anaicut) in Tiruchi was washed away this morning. Totally, shutters from 6 to 14 of the dam broke due to the pressure of water being released into the Cauvery.
The dam has 45 regulator shutters and about eight of them broke on Wednesday evening.
Traffic that used to ply on top of the dam has been stopped.
Though the shutters have been washed away, the Tiruchi Collector said there was no need to panic.
The principal secretary of the Public Works Department is now doing preliminary survey of the dam.
