Chennai: DMK leaders M K Stalin and Kanimozhi today visited BJP headquarters Kamalalayam in Chennai to pay their homage to late prime minister Vajpayee whose ashes have been placed there.
DMK working president Stalin had paid a visit to Delhi the day Vajpayee died and paid his last respects there as did DMK MP Kanimozhi.
The urns containing the ashes of Vajpayee were brought to Chennai yesterday by BJP Tamilnadu president Tamilisai Soundararajan and Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan.
The ashes are to be immersed on Sunday, 26 August, in the Adyar river in Chennai, in the seas at Kanyakumari, Rameswaram, the Vaigai at Madurai, Cauvery in Tiruchi and Bhavani in Erode.
Tamilisai will lead the ashes yatra in Chennai, Pon Radhakrishnan at Kanyakumari, MP L Ganesan at Tiruchi, national secretary H Raja at Rameswaram, national executive committee member C P Radhakrishnan at Erode and former State president K N Lakshmanan in Madurai.
