Chennai: A six-day annual rural camp titled Sangam organised by students of Department of Social Work (SFS) of Madras Christian College at Tambaram in the city suburb was held from 12 to 17 August at Jamunamarathur in Thiruvanamalai district.
A press release said, 40 students from the department participated in the camp accompanied by two directors – R Belinda and R Sankaranarayanan.
Cultural events like street play, mime and puppetry was performed in front of the communities to create awareness about various themes such as alcoholism, child marriage, health and hygiene and education.
There was a medical exhibition held for the students of forest school in Jamunamarathur through which they were explained about various medical problems and importance of good health and hygiene. Sports activities were also held and winners were given prizes.
