Chennai: Actor Vidaarth is on the fastest rise with his choice of unique scripts and roles.

Following three back to back acclaimed roles in movies like ‘Kurangu Bommai,’ ‘Oru Kidaiyin Karunai Manu‘ and ‘Kuttrame Thandanai’ last year, he is now on his next spree continuing with ‘Kaatrin Mozhi.’

While the actor plays the role of Jyotika’s husband in ‘Kaatrin Mozhi,’ he was recently here at LICET (Loyola-ICAM College of Engineering and Technology) Chennai for the occasion of cultural events.

Vidaarth expressed his misfortune as he could not pursue college and experience a life there. Here are the excerpts:

How do you see yourself amidst college students?

There is nothing for me here to preach them at all. In fact, I have been inheriting a whole lot of things from college students as I wasn’t privileged enough to pursue. It is noteworthy that the majority of leading personalities from Tamil and Telugu industries comprises of graduates from here.

But, you have a lot of young fan following right?

Yes, whenever I am doing something different, the first ones to come ahead and appreciate me are none other than college students. Recently, when I was watching one of my films in a theatre, a youth approached and congratulated me for taking up different roles. Such appreciations are what that matter a lot for me.

How did your family accept you not pursuing education?

Everyone in my family are well educated and occupied with top professional jobs. It is only me, who missed my college. I always had a feeling that I missed my college and even some of my guests at home would look me down. But now I have realised that it is not just about the academics, but its all about your passion and self-determination towards something, which will take you through the road of success.

What made you choose ‘Kaatrin Mozhi’?

Encouragements given by true cinema propelled me to take up such projects as ‘Kaatrin Mozhi.’ Many would have watched the original version ‘Tumhari Sulu.’ Producer Dhananjayan sir called me one day and asked him to check with it if I am okay. Soon after watching the film, I felt that I have to be a part of this film. ‘Kaatrin Mozhi‘ has a simple yet heart-touching story, which will appeal to everyone.

Being a co-star of actress Jyothika, how was it?

Working with Jyotika madam was a great experience. I am not saying this for the sake of stereotypical things. But she is really a wonderful person. There are only a few films, which gives complete satisfaction while dubbing. ‘Kaatrin Mozhi‘ offered me such an experience.
