Chennai: Mukkulathor Puli Padai founder, MLA Karunas, was released from Vellore prison this morning after he obtained conditional bail yesterday.
According to reports, emerging out of the prison, Karunas told mediapersons who had gathered there that he was prepared to face any case filed against him.
He had been arrested for his alleged abusive remarks against Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and the police during a protest meeting at Valluvar Kottam, Chennai.
A case was booked under seven sections of the IPC and he was arrested from his residence in Chennai.
There was already a case against him for attacking fans during the protest to stop IPL matches being played in Chennai.
Under the conditional bail clauses, Karunas has to sign every day in the Nungambakkam police station in the case related to his remarks against the CM and police.
In the IPL case, he has been ordered to sign everyday in the Triplicane police station.
