Fundraiser with ‘Forever Rahman’ concert in Chennai

Chennai: The Rotary Club of Madras Chenna Patna (RCMCP) is organising a fund raising event called ‘Forever Rahman’ at Kalaivanar Arangam on 13 October at 6.30 pm.

Super singers Satya Prakash, Saindhavi and Harini will perform. They will be anchored by western classical pianist Anil Srinivasan. This is the second time that Anil has been anchoring the show for a noble cause, a press release said.

During the event, Anil would play a few songs blind flooded for the sake of visually-challenged people during which time, lights in the entire auditorium will be switched off.

Entire funds will go towards meeting prestigious projects of the 25-year-old RCMCP such as free pediatric heart surgery for children with congenital heart disease at Madras Medical Mission Hospital, Hospice Pain Management, providing vocational skill training to school drop-outs, providing educational and basic infrastructure to Swami Dayananda Rotary Matriculation School at Kadalur, Kalpakkam and providing interest free micro loan of up to Rs 25,000 each to street and food cart vendors and small traders.

During the event, the Rotary Club has decided to honour two eminent singers Srinivasan Doraiswamy and P Unnikrishnan with Lifetime Achievement Award. Actress Kushboo and Sushasini would grace the occasion.
