Chennai: Actor Rajinikanth, who is shooting in Varanasi for his next film Petta, has visited the famous Kasi Viswanathar temple.

He was accorded a warm welcome. The actor was spotted with a handlebar moustache that he sports for one of his looks in Petta, when he visited the temple last night.

Mediapersons gathered in large numbers to interact with the actor.

However, he chose to keep mum as he emerged out of the temple. Known for his spiritual inclinations, he visits Himalayas almost once a year.

In Tamilnadu, 15 members from various districts of the Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM) were sacked from the primary membership of the association yesterday for involving in acts that are detrimental to the welfare of the mandram.

In a press release, convenor of the RMM, Sudhakar, urged the members not to have any truck with them.

Rajinikanth had announced his entry into politics 31 December 2017 and floated Rajini Makkal Mandram.

Office-bearers were appointed to various districts and sources say that the mandram would be soon converted into a political party.
