Chennai: The body of an unidentified man has been found in an empty plot on 100 Feet Road, Koyambedu.
According to the police, the body was found this morning by passersby-who informed them.
The police arrived at the spot and recovered the body of a man probably aged around 30, wearing a vest and shorts.
The police said he was killed after being hit on the head with a stone. It is suspected that the man worked as a labourer at Koyambedu fruit and vegetable market.
The police sent the body for post-mortem to the Government Kilpauk Hospital.
The Koyambedu police have registered a case and are conducting further inquiries after detaining eight persons.
