Chennai: The mother and grandmother of a minor girl were arrested for sexually abusing the 14-year-old over a span of time.
According to sources, the mother was arrested under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) in Kumbakonam.
The girl had been living with her mother and grandmother at Teynampet in Chennai after her parents separated.
The complainant, the father of the teenager, is a 45-year-old businessman who belongs to the family of famous film director. He gave the police videos of the lesbian behaviour of the two women, abusing the girl. The videos showed the women stripping in front of the minor girl and displaying an odd behaviour.
The mother even issued death threats to the girl with the support of the grandmother. The girl then disclosed the torture to her father who initially asked the wife to refrain such acts. When she did not listen, he approached the All Woman Police Station, Teynampet.
The girl narrated her ordeal to an investigating officer and before a magistrate. Following this, a dragnet was spread for her mother and grandmother and the duo, who went into hiding, were arrested at Kumbakonam.
