Chennai: Country’s second largest car manufacturer Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), unveiled the new Santro recently and has announced that the world premiere will be held on 23 October in New Delhi.
Speaking at the unveiling of the hatchback, MD and CEO, HMIL, Y K Koo, said, “Today is a historic and proud moment for us, as India has unanimously chosen the name of their favourite family car to be called the Santro. The new Santro is based on the six key pillars to become a game changer and benchmark product in the Indian auto industry. The car will also debut in-house developed smart auto AMT and offer factory fitted CNG option.”
According to Hyundai, the Santro will have a segment-first 17.64 cm touch screen infotainment system with Android auto, Apple Carplay and Mirror Link along with voice recognition. There is also a rear parking camera.
The car is claimed to have been built using 63 per cent advanced high strength steel (AHSS). Additionally ABS with EBD and driverside airbag are standard.
It comes with a four-cylinder 1.1 litre petrol engine, will have three years or one lakh km warranty and three years road-side assistance.
The pre-booking for the Santro will be 100 per cent online till 22 October with Rs 11,100 as booking amount for the first 50,000 customers as an introductory offer.
