VIT University vice-president G V Selvam with the professors from Japan and Poland at inaugural session of an international conference on advanced technologies and its usage on products on university campus recently.

Vellore: Japanese and Indians go hand in hand when it comes to love for mother tongue and hard work, said VIT University vice-president G V Selvam.

Addressing the inaugural session of an international conference on advanced technologies on products and its usage here recently, he said, “Just because the Japanese worked hard, their country now stands prominent in production sector. They are able to utilise even less resources available in their country for making quality products. Their country proverb – We can do what all others can do so we should do what others can’t do – suits them very well.”

Speaking about the growth of laser technologies, Selvam said, “Once upon a time, people never even in their dreams imagined that laser can be effectively used for various purposes. The most common places we can find laser are super markets. So, we at VIT take pleasure in working with Japanese for development of technologies like this.”

The event witnessed the participation of 12 professors and lecturers from Japan and Poland including Prof Michael Piyasaki.

VIT Crystal Research Centre director Kalainathan Sivaperuman delivered the welcome address.
