Chennai: A woman died during her stay at a star hotel on Anna Salai under suspicious circumstances. According to police, a complaint was filed by her husband Amarnath Reddy (34), from Bengaluru who was staying with his wife Sakthi Reddy (31). Sakthi passed away last night after complaining of breathlessness. Police suspect she passed away due to a cardiac arrest, however, they are waiting for a post mortem report to ascertain the cause of death.

The couple had booked a room on the second floor of the hotel on 20 October. Police said the duo came to the city for the purpose of getting an American Visa for Sakthi. Amarnath runs a construction business in Bengaluru. He told the police that around midnight Sakthi told him that she could not breath properly, later she had slept.

This morning he found that she had died. Police sent her body to Government Royapettah Hospital for post mortem. A case has been registered.
