Chennai: In a bid to make publishing more easier for aspiring writers, Notion Press launched a new platform called “Xpress Publishing” – a do-it-yourself online publishing platform that helps authors create and publish their books in less than thirty minutes.
Authors get complete control over how they want to publish and where they want to sell their book. The books that are published through this platform will be available on both print and e-Book format. There is also a feature that enables authors to choose the market they wish to sell their book.
Speaking during the launch held here, co-founder and CEO, Notion Press, Naveen Valsakumar, said, “We started planning for this about two-and-a-half years ago. Xpress publishing will enable convenient and easy access to professional tools for first-time authors. The best part is that our authors own 100 per cent of the rights to their books and earn 70 per cent of the net profits from book sales in any format they choose to publish in.”
Co-founder and CTO, Notion Press, Bhargava Adepalley then gave a demo of the platform. Once the authors sign up for the platform, they need to add informations about their books to menus that includes book format, title information, page interior design, cover design, book distribution option, pricing and final book preview.
Each and every option in the menu has a tutorial video to assist authors. Once the book is out, it appears on Notion Press online book store and other e-markets in less than thirty minutes. The published authors also have the option to track their book sales online and the profits go straight into their designated bank accounts.
Digital marketing expert and author, Kiruba Shankar who was a guest speaker during the launch said, ‘This is a fantastic platform for aspiring writers. I have written over five books and I know the pain it takes for authors to find publishers but Xpress publishing bridges that gap.’
When asked about the goals they wish to achieve, Naveen said, “Through Xpress Publishing we aim to create over one lakh authors in the next five years. In the coming weeks, we will also start publishing books in other regional Indian languages.” He added, “Currently, authors can publish books in Tamil and English.”
