Chennai: To make students employable, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has revamped the curriculum and made internships compulsory so as to increase students practical exposure, said its Vice-Chairman M P Poonia.
Delivering the convocation address at the 18th Graduation Ceremony at Easwari Engineering College at Ramapuram on Saturday, he said Indian students are lucky due to two reasons – one that they are born in India, and the other have an opportunity to pursue higher education.
Poonia elaborated on the rich cultural and educational history of our country while describing Nalanda University. He said that AICTE is ready to support any challenges that institutions face.
The AICTE Vice-Chairman called upon the engineering graduates to connect to the community, society and the nation.
Earlier, college principal K Kathiravan presented the annual report. As many as 1,066 students received degrees out of which 837 from under graduate stream and 229 from post graduate stream. From the UG stream 34 students and from the PG stream 28 students achieved university ranks and awards.
