Chennai: Fitness fashion wear brand Dumbell has been launched and the firm has announced weightlifter and Commonwealth gold medallist Satish Kumar Sivalingam will be mentor and brand ambassador.

A release stated that Dumbell will be positioned as India’s fitness fashion wear brand to offer high-quality range of products for both men and women at affordable prices.

Founded in 2017 by Abishek Rengasamy who is currently the founder and chairman of A Square Garments, Chennai, the brand started with t-shirts at first.

Satish Kumar Sivalingam, said, ‘It is a privilege to be part of a homegrown fitness fashion wear brand I can relate to. During my initial stages of career, it was expensive to buy fitness wear for an aspiring player like me. I congratulate Dumbell team and Abishek to come out with such high-quality product at an affordable price.’

Founder and chairman of Dumbell, Abishek Rengasamy, said, “India’s active fitness wear segment is worth Rs 6,000 crore and is expected touch double-digit growth. After an overwhelming initial response and sensing the market opportunity, we planned our next growth phase by launching 50 stores in the next one year and 200 stores across India in the next three years. We are in talks with Venture Capitalist from various countries for expansion. Recently Fincorp Global Holdings based out of Dubai has joined hands with us to open stores across the markets in subcontinent , African and South East Asian countries with the first round of investment of $2 million for 70 stores.”
