Chennai: Pachaiyappa’s College, Chennai, defeated Vivekananda College by six runs to win the IIT-M Inter-Collegiate T20 cricket tournament, held here recently.
Pachaiyappa’s scored 121 for 5 in 20 overs and chasing 122, Vivekananda was all out for 115, thanks to Mirza Mohammad Hussain Namazi’s three-wicket haul that set up the win for Pachaiyappa’s.
Mirza Mohammed was also adjudged the best bowler of the tournament. M P Prithvi Neal of Pachaiyappa’s won the man of the tournament award.
Scores: Pachaiyappa’s 121 for 5 in 20 overs (P Sudarsan 35, M P Prithvi Neal 31) bt Vivekananda 115 in 19.4 overs (Aditya Venkatesh 37, U Mukilesh 30, S Mirza Mohammed Hussain Namazi (3/21).
