Chennai: A case has been registered against a man for repeatedly molesting his stepdaughter.

According to police sources, Abirami (36), a resident of Pillayar Koil Street, Shenoy Nagar, was separated from her husband Arun years ago.

The couple has two children, a girl aged 13 and a boy, 12.

She then married George Fernandes, a resident of Apparao Garden, Second Cross Street, Chetpet.

In the complaint, it is alleged that he molested the 13-year-old girl in the absence of the mother September last year.

When the daughter disclosed the incident to Abirami, she fought with him and moved out of the house with the children.

Two months later, Fernandes came back apologising to her and she gave him another chance. But again, he did not stop misbehaving with the girl. She lodged a complaint with Indian Council for Child Welfare in Shenoy Nagar.

Last evening, a complaint was filed at All-Woman Police Station, Chetpet, under POCSO Act. However, Fernandes has not been arrested yet.
