Chennai: The recent reports of dengue in the city has put the suburban on red alert, following which several measures are being taken by the officials as well as the residents to ensure that the area of Tambaram is kept safe.
Conservancy workers are deputed in large numbers to make sure that there mosquitos are killed and the larva breeding grounds are also destroyed.
Speaking to News Today, Sri Sarvamangala Nagar Residents Welfare Association secretary M Ravi said they are not worried much about dengue as the municipal workers collect garbage on a daily basis.
“The officials have been very helpful and act immediately in this issue whenever we report something,” he said.
He further said, it would be better if the Chitlapakkam Town Panchayat is upgraded to Municipality which will give us more preference and this has been a long pending request, he said.
