Chennai: The Andhra Pradesh government has announced the stopping of Krishna river water that was supplied into Chennai to meet its drinking water needs.

The water had been let into the metropolis from the Kandaleru dam from 22 September has been stopped forthwith to take care the agricultural needs of Andhra Pradesh.

The Krishna water has been meeting a part of the drinking water needs of Chennai in the lean summer months.

According to report, till the end of October, Andhra Pradesh has supplied 1.65 tmc ft of water to Chennai.
