Producer/distributor Trident Arts celebrates silver jubilee

Trident Arts celebrated 25 years since its inception into the world of cinema. Speaking during the thanksgiving celebration held in Chennai.

Founder of Trident Arts, R Ravindran said, “It’s a big day for us today. It wasn’t easy. It happened step by step. I have to thank Abdul Lathif for supporting me all these years.” He added, “I came into cinema in 1987. At one time, Lathif and I decided to start together. Trident Arts began as a distributor and soon we became producers. Our office was just 80 sqft.”

He then thanked every one who has supported Trident Arts. “Several producers have helped us. We have distributed more than 550 films that includes movies of every major Tamil film stars. Every year, we keep making films. We are now making 13 films back to back. We are also into web series.”

He added that he is soon planning to bring his daughter, Soundarya into cinema as well.

Trident movies have distributed films of all leading actors of South Indian cinema including those of Ajith, Vijay, Dhanush and Simbu.

Some of the successful movies that Trident has distributed includes Citizen, Red, Villain, Yennai Arindhaal, Devathaiyai Kandaen, Saravana, Kuthu, Kuruvi, Tirupachi, Sachin and Aram to name a few.

The Trident group also owns and operate 13 theaters across Tamil Nadu. The group has even produced successful TV serials such as Barathi and Anatham Vilaiyaadum Veedu.
