Chennai:Â With an aim to provide better healthcare facility, US and Canada-based Best Cure Foundation, a part of TeamBest Companies, plans to set-up multispeciality hospitals in India by 2030. Tamilnadu is said to get 500 facility.
“Healthcare is a $ 10 trillion business across the globe. As it has become an industry, people want profit, but our objective is to bring down at least 50 per cent of the deaths caused due to cancer, diabetes and cardiac conditions,” explained TeamBest Companies and Best Cure Foundation founder and president, Krishnan Suthanthiran, during a press meet here Friday.
“Affordable and easily accessible treatment is the catch of our initiative. We have already signed a memorandum of understanding with the Russian government to implement the same project. Talks are going on with the State’s Health and Family Welfare Department,” he added.
The foundation targets to provide purified drinking water and affordable sewer systems to every corner of the world by 2030-end, and establish express and mobile clinics.
“Most diseases can be prevented if potable water and sewerage connection are provided which our country lacks,” stated Krishnan Suthanthiran.
CURE FOR CANCER
The company has been into manufacturing healthcare equipment since seven decades and is widely-known for inventing tele-cobalt therapy in 1951.
With the growing requirement to offer better treatment for curing cancer, the firm has been pioneering and advocating particle therapy which is claimed to cure the condition.
“A lot of private hospitals are offering proton therapy which is a failed model and the US companies have gone bankrupt because of investing in it,” Krishnan Suthanthiran said.
The particle therapy is the combination of proton and carbon that aids in giving precise and accurate radiation to locate and treat.
He added, “When proton remedy is given to a patient, he needs to be on the treatment for a long time and it even requires to be exposed to the rays for at least 40 times. With particle therapy, the tumour can be cured in a short span of time. It also saves the source ions with which many cancer-affected people can be treated.”
Speaking to News Today, he said, “The recurrence of cancer is less when treated with particle therapy and we aim to make it available for people of all strata in India.”
