Chennai: Parts of Chennai city is experiencing rain now. According to reports, it is raining in Guindy, Ekkaduthangal and Royapettah.
Heavy rain is reported in Theni district areas like Andipatti, Kandamanur, Allinagaram, Periyakulam and Vadugapatti.
As heavy rain is lashing Thoothukudi, Collector Sandeep Nanduri has ordered holiday for private schools also. Government schools had already declared a holiday owing to rain and there were complaints that some private schools were functioning as usual. So, the Collector today ordered holiday for those schools also.
Apart from Thoothukudi, many places, including Nagercoil, Thuckalay and Kulithurai in Kanyakumari district have been experiencing rain from last night, say reports.
Also, heavy rain is reported in Dharmapuri, and Madurai regions like Othakadai, Melur and Azhagarkoil.
