Chennai: Three people were killed as their car rammed a stationary lorry on the Bengaluru Highway near Sunguvarchathiram, Kanchipuram district, this morning.

Reports from the accident site say that 10 people were travelling by the four-wheeler which dashed against the truck, killing three people on the spot.

The injured were rushed to Kanchipuram Government Hospital for treatment, where the condition of two of them was said to be critical.

Kanchipuram taluk police who arrived at the accident site sent the three bodies to the same hospital for post-mortem.

They are also involved in streamlining the traffic on the highway after the accident.
